You can group together objects to form one single object.

Grouping objects has a number of benefits

  • Allows a user to move the entire roof truss or object in one move rather than moving the shapes individually.
  • You can add the grouped object as a stencil.
  • Allows a user to add the grouped items to a part created in the Material Master. This means that Bill of Materals will include the roof truss.

To group an item

1. Select all the shapes to group. You can do this by holding the left mouse button and dragging the cursor to form a window over the shapes or by holding Shift or Ctrl and individually selecting the shapes.

2. Right-click on the selected objects, hover over Group and click Group from the options that appear.

You can now select the entire object simply by clicking on it.

You can also modify the object in the Building Objects screen.

In the Conceptual view you can see in what direction the shape would rotate should you rotate it on that particular axis.
