Creating Complex Pilasters and Other Structures

Prev Next

The Pilaster shape in its simplest form should be thought of as a transition shape. When you need to draw complex structural elements between Walls, the Pilaster shape is commonly used as a shape to connect them. As such, you can use the Pilaster for Walls that change thickness or for handling multiple Wall intersections.

A nearly unlimited number of Walls can intersect with a Pilaster shape at just about any angle. In some situations you may see missing Ties. Be sure to inspect your drawings and add Ties for these locations.
