Ladder Beams are used with Kwikstage and are slightly different from Bridging Beams. We will need to use the Material Master to change a Ladder Beam into a Bridging Beam. This is because the Material LadderBeam doesn't show up on the drawing, so has to be changed to a BridgingBeam ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/044c7d3b-4104-4b00-928d-9cfeabb66a1b.png) 1. Before we begin, we need to set up the **Material Master** to enable **Ladder Beams** so that we can use them in our design. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/69651e82-77a8-4905-9186-dc226790a340.png) 2. In the **Material Master**, select the key icon on the column heading of the **Supported System** column. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/7da4c2ba-b6d1-421f-a881-16b5b5295df8.png) 3. From the list of options provided, select to filter KWIK. This will show only parts assigned the KWIK Supported Systems ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/0169f87f-3a07-4cef-8b40-f5854f442dcd.png) 4. Click the **Material Groups** heading to order the **Material Group** alphabetically to make it easier to find the group we need (Ladder Beams). ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/d8b505e4-b3d8-4242-91ea-ff16f2f2df41.png) 5. Change the required **Ladder Beams** to **Bridging Beams** by clicking in the Material Group cell and typing "Bridging Beams". **Note: Bridging Beams will be auto-filled once enough characters have been entered.** **![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/aee3d2f0-3a04-40ff-9666-da7097ae72bc.png)** We need to set up the **Material Master** to tell it is using a ladder beam, so in the custom settings we need to specify **Bridging Beam** under the **Name** column and in the **Value** column we are going to specify "LadderBeam" 6. Select a cell from the **Custom Options** column of a **Ladder Beam** **![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/88eb8f35-6eb5-4e25-9943-aa740af871cc.png)** 7. In the **Custom Options** dialog, click and set the **Name** as **BridgingBeamType** and set **Value** as **LadderBeam.** 8. Click **OK.** **![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/6000ac26-4cbd-474e-8fb5-4d7c6ba3e3d5.png)** The custom options will be added to the Ladder Beams. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/2a4e4418-9ed0-4770-9e35-4eef1019336f.png) If you want to automatically display clamps to the beam, we can add the **Right-Angle Bolt Clamp** to the **Custom Options** of the Ladder Beam. 9. Change the filter to ensure all systems are displayed. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/25dfe95a-1a13-4a42-9683-94ba25854bb4.png) 10. Click the cell **Add Parts** of the **Ladder Beans.** 11. Locate the part, add it to the part by clicking the checkbox and enter the Quantity. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/ladder.gif) 12. When done, click **Save** and close the **Material Master** **![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/c3c8219a-0337-4e4f-b9f0-0b907ba92a7e.png)** You can now begin creating your Scaffold **Creating your Scaffold** 1. From the main screen, select the Scaffold system to use. As we're using Ladder Beams, we have to select **Kwikstage.** **![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/42da23d4-c3e9-459e-ad16-5db6e4fb0c85.png)** 2.
