New Editions
- Quantify Industrial Edition - The new Industrial Edition of Quantify is now available. This edition comes with advanced scaffold tag tracking features most commonly used by industrial companies including:
- Individual custom Activities by Activity Type can be assigned to Shipments and Scaffolds for tracking tasks such as erection, dismantle, modifications, and more.
- Inspection history, including pass/fail information, inspection dates, and inspection notifications can be added to scaffolds.
- Previously entered Last Inspection and Next Inspection dates in the Scaffold > Tag Dates tab will be copied to the respective fields on the new Scaffold > Dates and Inspections tab.
- Access Points can now be added to individual Scaffolds. These can be used to track unique access locations on a scaffold which may utilize a unique tag or identification number.
- Custom properties for Scaffolds are now available on Job Sites with Scaffold Tracking enabled. The custom properties, such as custom lists, set on a Job Site will only be available on Scaffolds assigned under the Job Site.
- Visual reporting is available for Scaffolds! View Activity Metrics, Inspections, Requests and more through colorful charts and graphs. Date filters and options allow you to customize this data on screen and before printing.
New Features
- We are proud to announce our new online help system Avontus Assist. Select Help > Avontus Assist Online Help or go to http://www.avontus.com/help/avontusassist
- Returns can now be entered using dates in the prior billing cycle for the Arrears and First Advance, the Arrears billing methods. This will create a credit on the next invoice created and eliminates the need to reset billing to enter a missed return.
- Job Sites can now be included on a Sell Transaction. The items sold to the Job Site will be added to the next appropriate invoice created. The Transactions grid has been enabled for Job Sites and will display all Transactions related to the selected Job Site. New Accounting Types have been added in Global Options to support this feature .
- Transactions can now be edited. Branch Office balances will automatically update based upon edits.
- Individual users can customize grids to display select columns and re-order columns as desired. These changes are unique to the user and are saved to the user's account.
- The field Notes on Invoice has been added to Branch Office locations. Notes added here will be displayed on Invoices created for any Job Site under the Branch Office.
- A new menu item has been added to the right-click menu of Job Sites that allows you to create a copy of the selected Job Site. This is similar to creating a Group under a Job Site, but actually creates another Job Site as a copy under the same Branch Office, Laydown Yard, or Staging Area.
- The Cost for items in the Product Catalog can be updated based upon Last Cost or Average Cost amounts for the selected item(s).
- Product Grid Auto Refresh - A new option in Global Options provides the ability to disable the automatic refreshing of the Products Grid as locations are selected in the Organization Tree. This will override user settings in My Options. This helps to reduce SQL Server resources for installations with a large number of concurrent end users.
- Grid Filter - The ability to filter grid content is now available on all main grid tabs including Shipments.
- Customer Pivot Report - A new Customer Pivot report replaces the previous static Customer Report.
- Vendor Pivot Report - A new Vendor Pivot report replaces the previous static Vendor Report.
Enhancements
- Oracle Invoice Export - New option in Global Options to enable Headers, for the purposes of troubleshooting, in the export file generated for Oracle Accounting Integration.
- Shipment Notes and Rental Periods - The option to show Shipment Notes and Rental Periods from the Shipment(s) is available on the Summary Invoice for all billing methods.
- Scaffold Invoice # of Days - The number of days a scaffold has been standing is included on the Scaffold Invoice.
- Scaffold Invoice Scaffold Sorting - Scaffolds are now sorted by the Tag name/number on the Scaffold Invoice.
- Scaffold Register Change Order - The Order can be changed for multiple scaffolds selected in the Scaffold Register grid.
- Performance Improvements -Improvements to overall processing speed and performance in Quantify and Quantify Web especially related to the Products tab, pivot reports, and utilization reports.
- .NET 4.0 - Quantify has been updated to use .NET 4.0, which is automatically installed if not found.
- Customer Number - The Customer Number field has been added to the Rent Extension Pivot, Invoice Unit Price Pivot, Invoice Pivot, and the Billable Job Site Summary Pivot.
- Date Created - Seconds information has been added to the Date Created for Shipments and Invoices.
- Job Site History - A log entry is created in the Job Site History when billing has been reset for a Job Site.
- Invoice Export - When exporting invoices to a file there is now an option to view issues in a list, instead of the exported file.
- Global Location - Addresses can be manually geocoded by entering the latitude and longitude.
- Pivot Report Fields - All pivots display available fields in alphabetical order.
- Invoice Product Charges - Product charges on an invoice have a secondary sort order by the part number.
- Windows Compatibility - For compatibility with IE and Windows, code-signing of the binaries with SHA1 has been replaced with SHA256. This causes Quantify to be considered as a new software package under Windows, which prevents user setting migration. (See Other Notes below for more information.)
- Re-Rent Owner (Tool Editions Only) - Checked out parts now include the re-rent owner information.
- Estimates Import Icon - Updated icon on the Estimates tab used for importing from files such as Avontus Designer drawings.
- Invoices Grid - Saved Date column added to grid to log date changes are made to an invoice after it was created such as updating the export status or editing additional charges.
Issues Resolved
- Database Tools Progress Bar - Database Tools now issues proper progress bars when deleting and restoring databases instead of the app not responding properly. Deletion of the Quantify database now closes all active connections before the delete is attempted.
- Automated Crash Reports - Fixed numerous crashes reported by the automatic error reporting mechanism. A special thank you to all of the customers that sent in these reports.
- QuickBooks Sync Error - Fixed issue with QuickBooks sync when blackberry device is plugged into the computer at the time of sync, creating an extra drive letter.
- Invoice Printing - Fixed issue of extra blank page included when printing the Summary type Invoice.
- Job Site Group - When creating a job site group from a parent job, the discount/markup options are now copied to the new group.
- SQL Server Connection Error - Error message improved when SQL Server connectivity has been lost.
- 2010 Report Viewer - Revert to the 2010 ReportViewer Control for performance and compatibility with Windows XP
Other Notes
Important Information for Quantify Users:
Due to necessary updates to system files for Quantify, user-specific My Options will be reset to defaults after updating to this version. This includes settings such as the default save location for files and job site display in the organization tree. After updating, users may reset these options by selecting Tools > My Options.
No data will be lost as a result of this change.
