Step 1: Quantify System Requirements

Quantify is a Windows-based program that enables you to use the skills that you already have. We designed these hardware requirements to work with your existing infrastructure and minimize your IT costs.

Please note that the following guide is for installing MS SQL Express 2017. Your installation of SQL may vary depending on the version of MS SQL you have selected (there may be slight differences in screenshots). Please note that it is critical that MS SQL has the settings as detailed within the following instructions for Quantify to function as expected.

Automatic Updates

Quantify has an auto-update mechanism that keeps end-users up to date with the latest features and enhancements.

Avontus Quantify Client Requirements 

• Supported Operating Systems*:
  • Windows 10

  • Quantify has passed Microsoft's compatibility tests for 10.
• Hardware Requirements:
  • Processor*:
    • 2.0 GHz processor (Minimum).
    • 3.0 GHz, processor or greater (Recommended).
    • *64-bit processor required to run Quantify 64-bit.
  • RAM:
    • 8 GB (Minimum).
    • 16 GB or more (Recommended).
  • Hard Disk:
    • 500 MB of available space may be required.
  • Display:
    • 1024 x 768, 256 colors (Minimum).
    • 1920 x 1080 high color (Recommended).
  • Internet:
    • Internet connection required for installation and automatic updates.

SQL Server Requirements

• SQL Server 2016 and above, 64-bit or 32-bit.
• Supported Operating Systems:
  • Windows 10
  • Windows 11
  • Windows Server 2022
  • Windows Server 2019
  • Windows Server 2016
• Processor:
  • 2 GHz 64 Bit processor (Minimum).
  • 3.5 GHz 64 Bit processor or greater (Recommended).
• RAM:
  • 16 GB (Minimum for Quantify Enterprise).
  • 32 GB or more (Recommended for Quantify Enterprise).
  • 32 GB (Minimum for Quantify Industrial).
  • 64 GB or more (Recommended for Quantify Industrial).
• Hard Disk:
  • 120 GB SSD or more of available space.
  • Database size will increase over time.
• Display:
  • Super-VGA 800 x 600 or higher resolution.
• Internet:
  • Internet connection required for installation and automatic updates.

Note: For best performance, we recommend hosting Quantify database on a Non-Virtualized server solely for SQL Server with no other Instances/databases besides Quantify. 

Quantify Web

• Server Components: IIS (version 4.0 or greater), exposed to the internet
• Internet:
  • High speed internet required 
  • Required minimum speeds: 10 Mbps upload, 50 Mbps download

Quantify Web Prerequisites

• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6

To keep the installation and update download size to a minimum, the prerequisites that Quantify requires are not included in the initial installer. If your computer does not have any prerequisites installed, a Prerequisites Wizard automatically appears during installation. It will notify you of the files needed and step you through the process of downloading and installing them. After all prerequisites have been installed, Quantify installation will begin.
