These **Areas** can be geographical (an area on a Job site) or they could be used to group scaffolds together depending on the unit that the scaffold is built on. For example, an **Area** could be created that groups together scaffolds that are erected around an Alkylation Unit. The area could then be called ALKY. Selecting an **Area** will display only scaffolds or requests that have been assigned to that area. For instance, if we select ALKY then the map will display only scaffolds or requests that are assigned to the ALKY **Area**. For more information on assigning **Areas**, please visit the [**Assigning a Scaffold** **or** **Request** **to an Area**](/v1/docs/assigning-a-scaffold-or-request-to-an-area) guide. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/427ac951-3308-411f-b850-25ed488a6f7a.png) Select **All** **Areas** to display all areas regardless of which area they are assigned to. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/a5126172-4f7a-4a81-872e-0d45f3344afe.png) #### **Subareas** You can also create subareas to split scaffolds and requests where there are multiple of the same unit in your Job Site. You can create these by selecting an **Area** and adding a new **Area**. Any **Area** with a subarea will be indicated by a small black marker. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/129b7035-cbec-4d27-87d7-44a6eaca2293.png) For more information on adding a subarea, visit the [**Adding a Subarea**](/v1/docs/adding-a-subarea) guide. #### **Adding, Editing, Deleting areas** Along the top are four icons. | Icon | Purpose | | --- | --- | | ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/08467320-baef-4bc6-924d-c3e4ae9de000.png) | Select this icon to create a new Area. | | ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/286787ba-d400-432e-9830-37728acb3bff.png) | Select this icon to edit an Area. | | ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/7d649f97-4dee-4b77-a895-3564a3d7fee6.png) | Select this icon to delete an Area. | | ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/fd15a197-ff77-432e-a068-ef7252b6b6a7.png) | Select this icon to refresh the Area list. | For more information visit: - [Adding an Area](/v1/docs/adding-an-area) - [Editing an Area](/v1/docs/editing-an-area) - [Deleting an Area](/v1/docs/deleting-an-area) #### **Request and Scaffold Screens** The area section also appears in the **Request**, **Scaffold**, and **Activities** screens. Like the **Map** screen, you can select an Area so that only requests or scaffolds assigned to that area are displayed in the table. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae69c864-58f0-4711-91e1-d1c2f7dff95f/Images/Documentation/c76b8fe1-6c2b-4672-9c10-aed35fc227ae.png)
