AR | Augmented Reality is a technology that displays a computer-generated image into the view of the real world on your device, thus providing a composite view. |
AR Base Point | An AR Base Point is a point placed in a Scaffold Designer drawing that corresponds to the spot at which an AR Target will be placed on the actual job site. This (plus the AR Target) enables Avontus Viewer to accurately superimpose the Augmented Reality version of the Scaffold over the actual, physical structure. |
ARCore | ARCore is Google's framework for running augmented reality apps and games on your iOS device. You must have it installed on your Android phone or tablet before you can run Avontus Viewer. |
ARKit | ARKit is Apple’s framework for running augmented reality apps and games on your iOS device. ARKit is included in iOS 11.0 and newer. |
AR Target | An AR Target is an image used to tell an AR application where in the real-world to superimpose its computer-generated image. Avontus Viewer uses a coaster sized target that you can download and print out or order online |
Reticle | A reticle is the pattern of fine lines or markings built into a sighting device that enable the user to accurately sight and /or line up objects relative to the lines in the device. |
