Manual Activation

If you do not have an internet connection or are otherwise unable to use the Activate Online feature, you may request a manual activation code.

Note: Trial licenses of Avontus Designer require online activation and an active internet connection during the trial period.

Procedures

There are two ways to manually request activation:

  • With email client & internet connection available
  • With email client & internet connection not available

Choose the best option based upon your computer's accessibility.

To manually request activation:

  1. Double-click the Avontus Designer icon on your desktop.
    Avontus Designer launches and the License Info dialog appears.
  2. Click No internet access? Activate Manually after entering the required registration information.

    The Manual Activation dialog appears.

    Use one of the methods below to activate your Avontus Designer installation.

Email Client & Internet Connection Available

If an email client is available:

  1. Click Email Request.
     
  2. Click OK

    This launches your default email client which starts a new email message. The message is addressed to Avontus Support and contains the entered registration information. No additional information is required. Warning: Do not remove or alter the information in the License Details section. This information is required to receive an activation code.
  3. Click Send.

Email Client & Internet Connection Not Available

If an email client is not available and/or if your computer does not have an active internet connection:

  1. Click Request Manually.

    The Avontus Designer - Request License User Info dialog appears.
     
  2. Call Avontus Support at +1 (800) 848-1860 and provide your license and registration information over the phone.
    Alternatively, you may choose to copy this information to a portable storage device and attach it to an email from another computer.
    Note: If you have an internet connection and can send the request through an email service, copy and paste the text into a new email message with the subject Avontus Designer License Request. Send this request to support@avontus.com.
    Warning: Do not remove or alter the information in the License Details section. This information is required to receive an activation code.

Entering Your Unlock Code

When you receive your unlock code from Avontus Support (either through email or via the phone):

  1. Use the procedures above to open the Manual Activation dialog.
  2. Copy and paste (or otherwise enter) the complete code into the dialog and click Apply Unlock Code when ready.

    When activation is complete, a confirmation dialog appears.
  3. Click OK.

    Avontus Designer launches and the main screen (called the Backstage) appears.
