Copying and Pasting Drawings or Plans (Images and PDFs)
Importing drawings into Avontus Designer is a relatively simple process.
If you are importing a .pdf, PDF programs can be a quick and easy tool for importing plans provided in .pdf format. Information like the page size and scale can be preserved as the plan is added to the drawing page in Avontus Designer. The procedures starting with step 3. use the free version of Foxit Reader (www.foxitsoftware.com).
Copying and Pasting an Image
If the drawing is an image (such as a .jpg or a .png, etc.):
Launch the image in your default image viewer or editor.
Copy the image, for example by right-clicking it and selecting Copy from the menu that appears.
Note: You can also copy and paste the file itself.
This copies the drawing page to the Clipboard.Right-click anywhere on the Avontus Designer drawing page and select Paste from the menu that appears (or hold ctrl and press V)
The drawing appears in Avontus Designer, where you can move, scale and crop it as necessary.
Copying and Pasting a Plan From PDF File
If the drawing is a .pdf, we recommend taking a snapshot of the drawing page and paste that into Avontus Designer.
There are many PDF readers such as Foxit Reader available for free that make this process very simple. In Foxit Reader:Open the drawing, click the Zoom menu and select 100%.
Click the SnapShot button.
Click anywhere on the drawing.
This copies the drawing page to the Clipboard.Right-click anywhere on the Avontus Designer drawing page and select Paste from the menu that appears.
The drawing appears in Avontus Designer, where you can move, scale and crop it as necessary.
