Adjusting a Product's Price, Overwriting a Product's Cost and Deleting a Product

Adjusting the Price of a Product

Quantify enables you to adjust the list price and the cost of a selected product. You can add a discount or markup to the product, and increase or decrease the price of the Product.

To adjust the price of a product:

  1. Access the Product Catalog.

    The Product Catalog appears.
  2. Click the Adjust prices for selected rows button ().

    The Modify Selected Rows dialog appears.
  3. Click the appropriate Adjust Columnradio button:
    • List
      Adjust the list price.
    • Cost
      Adjust the cost.
  4. Click the appropriate Adjustment Amountradio button:
    • Discount
      To determine the discount percent.
    • Markup
      To determine the markup percent.
    • Decrease by fixed amount
      To decreased the price by a fixed amount (in dollars).
    • Increase by fixed amount
      To increase the price by a fixed amount (in dollars).
  5. Once you select an adjustment amount, click in its text field and enter the appropriate amount (in percent or dollars).
  6. Click Modify.

    The Product Catalog adjusts the prices accordingly.

Overwriting the Cost of a Product

The Product Catalog enables you to overwrite the cost of selected Products with the average cost of those Products or with the last cost of the Products. The Average Cost takes the average cost of the selected Products in all purchase transactions of those Products created in Quantify. The Last Cost is the last amount paid for the Products.

To overwrite the cost of a Product:

  1. Access the Product Catalog.
    The Product Catalog appears.
  2. Click the appropriate product(s), then click the Change dropdown and select Average Cost or Last Cost from the Set Selected Items Cost to sub-menu

    A confirmation dialog appears.
  3. Click Yes.

Deleting a Product

Once a Product is in the Product Catalog, Quantify allows you to delete it if it is not being used. 

Note: You can only delete a Product if it has not yet been used in a shipment or transaction, and has no quantities stocked at any location. You can, however, move parts that have been used to the Inactive Catalog. To learn more, refer to Moving a Product to the Inactive Catalog. If a product  has been used in a shipment or transaction, or does not have quantities stocked at any location, Quantify will inform you as such.

To delete a Product from the Product Catalog:

  1. Access the Product Catalog.

    The Product Catalog appears.
  2. Click the product(s) you want to delete and click the Delete selected product(s) button ().

    A confirmation dialog appears.
  3. Click Yes.
    Quantify deletes the Product(s).
